TRUPA’s focus on heritage
The Two Rivers Urban Park Association (TRUPA) recently held a successful annual general meeting.
TRUPA was created by the City of Cape Town to protect the wetlands and be involved in ensuring that there is collaboration with different organisations who have interest in how the Two Rivers Urban Park is used and developed.
The association acts as a platform for other associations and civics in or around the TRUP area.
Through TRUPA,These organisations have to access information and express thoughts and concerns about what happens to the land.
In the last year, TRUPA have really focused on distributing information, sharing information to various affected stakeholders what the City and Province is doing and intend doing so that people can be informed.
TRUPA’s intends to continue researching wetland development, environment and heritage in the new year.
One of the events that TRUPA facilitated, in collaboration with other organisations, was the heritage event held on Heritage Day.
They hope to continue such events so that the heritage and history of the TRUP area can be shared and celebrated.
