ADVERTORIAL - Meet quirky Duke and his Dolls
Observatory has always been known for its vintage and retro stores with Revolution Records being an icon in Lower Main Road.
Duke and the Dolls, opposite Munro’s, is the latest addition to Obs’ retro vibe as local resident and owner of Revolution Records, Laurent Lemoine, opened his third family shop in Lower Main Road.
“Our family’s got... Revolution Records, Grand Funk and this is a combined family effort. We decided to expand what we really enjoy, which is old, vintage and retro as well,” he said.
Going on a year now, Duke and the Dolls fits perfectly into the character of Obs.
Laurent said that even though there are many vintage stores in Obs, every one has its niche and attracts visitors to the area. From clothing to furniture and old-time keepsakes, Duke and the Dolls’ antiques, vintage and retro items cater for everyone.
Laurent said that vintage and retro styles will also be trendy because “artistry and workmanship back in the day were superior”.
He said a well-built and designed statement piece will never go out of fashion.
“At the moment the art deco stuff is doing very well. It’s very nostalgic. People watch movies.”Visit Duke and the Dolls on Facebook.
