REVIEW: Hurry and get your curry

By: Richard Stadler
Roshan and Anita have opened a "Durban Curry" style restaurant and takeaway at 50 Lower Main Road, just a couple of shops down from Ganesh.
They grew up on Indian food on the south coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal and have always had a love for showing people how a real curry should taste.
They saw a gap in the market in Observatory for a real Indian style restaurant that also catered for take-aways, and soon had their shop up and running.
They serve a delicious cuisine of Indian lamb, chicken, fish, eggs and vegetarian meals that can be accompanied with cappuccino from their gigantic coffee machine.
They are very conscious of serving their customers with the best ingredients available and always ask their clients what they can do to improve their food range and their restaurant & take-away experience.
They also cater to western tastes by offering a full English breakfast for R60, omelettes and a "Cheapy" breakfast consisting of Macon, 1 x egg, fried tomato and toast for R20. Also available are bruschetta, French loaf, pasta, potato bake, toasties and soup.
For those that enjoy Indian Cuisine, a variety of Indian dishes are prepared, including bunny chows, roti, line fish and curries to tempt your palate.
Prices for a main meal range from R55 for a chicken bunny chow to R95 for their line fish curry.
On the weekend, they serve two specials of roasted duck with orange zest sauce and lamb shank with whole grain mustard for R110.
Their business hours are Monday to Friday: 09H00 - 19H00 and Saturday & Sunday: 09H00 - 12H00
All their meals are Halaal/Kosher and they will soon have their accreditation from the Muslim Council to hang on their wall.
I can tell you from personal experience that their lamb bunny chow (R70) is one of the best I've had, and I've had plenty!
