ObsLife gets a hit of satire

Gavin Thompson, renowned Cape Town cartoonist and creator of Trek Net, has partnered with ObsLife to provide residents with the opportunity to get creative.

Gavin, who was born and raised in the city, has produced an Observatory original cartoon (pictured left) focusing on the proposal of a cell phone mast to be put up in the area.

In each edition of ObsLife, a new cartoon highlighting an issue or topic relevant to the neighbourhood will be published. A Obs local will produce the cartoon.

Gavin will be hosting a workshop at the Ahem! Gallery in Lower Main Road to mentor anyone wanting to spark his or her creative side, and produce a cartoon for ObsLife.
