City’s grant will help Obs’ homeless projects

This winter, as temperatures in and around the city will plummet, most people are aware and able to prepare themselves for the change in weather.

But for the homeless population in Observatory, it can be difficult to take the steps to prepare for the winter.

The City of Cape Town will therefore be granting money to organisations who work with the homeless around the city.

Organisations in Observatory will be providing spaces for the homeless to stay.

These locations will be filled with blankets and all the necessary accessories to give shelter to those in need during the winter season.

To access these organisations, contact with Kenneth in Social Issues, who will then direct people toward these locations.

People in the community are also able to contact Kenneth for information pertaining to these resources for others. This program can help keep people off the streets and provide them with shelter - as well as a meal - during the winter months.
