A little bit of India to spice up Lower Main Road

The Peacock is an Indian-inspired tapas restaurant and bar at 105 Lower Main Road Obs and the owners know that a great time out is a combination of tasty, innovative, value for money food, attentive service and a space that is comfortable, inclusive, clean and friendly.

Why Indian tapas? Well, food is best enjoyed when it's shared.

An array of delicious small plates, each with a distinct flavour, are sure to excite your taste buds.

Both the chef and one of the menu creators at Peacock grew up with grandmothers who painstakingly crushed lentils for just the right consistency of dhal.

The silence at the family dinner table, as the aroma of the lamb that had been simmering all afternoon in a pot filled the room with the perfect combination of spices and flavours.

The disappointed look from the kids when the last portion of sweet, buttery soji was claimed and the beauty of the kulfi with its saffron infused milk, covered in crushed pistachios.

"We wanted to use those memories to create something that was broadly appealing and not purist or exclusive in where it took inspiration from.

We wanted to bring elements of cuisines from all over the world to add to the familiar and create a menu that is bold and ever changing," said Andrew Williams, the owner.

The space at Peacock has a wide appeal, is modern, fresh and the right combination of chic and comfort.

The Peacock opened its doors on the 6th of March 2017 and is committed to building a business of fair trade practices where all employees are treated with respect and are rewarded for hard work.
